After 17 years of my “Thompson Local” style CV, I took my 15year Part time DJ career to Sea as DJ/Entertainment Officer and went to work on the Cruise Ships.
I put my house up for rent and moved back in with my Father.
This new career differed between two companies, 5 months working all day and night, and 5 weeks just in the evening - this left me bored all day!
As fantastic a career it is, I don’t get paid when I’m at home, so between leaving the ship in October 2008 and waiting for the new contract, my funds ran out, to the point that I couldn’t even afford to buy any Christmas
presents and struggled to find enough money for even the cards.
All that changed when I found an advert “"Earn extra income" delivering and collecting catalogues. It didn’t take me long to recognize the benefits and level of support being offered just outweighed any other (even as an Avon Rep!), so I decided to give it a try.
Within my first 3 weeks I collected £680.00 worth of orders and then a new contract was offered on the cruise ships, so off I went, after informing my new customers of my leave.
I continued with my rounds on my return and picked up orders of over £1500.00, proving that customers will stay loyal with my business, even so early on!!
I then started to show other people what was available and signed in my first 2-team members, I smashed through my 10% and 13% bonus level and won our group’s small monthly trophy and felt proud of what I’d achieved in such a short time!
In my first week back from the last cruise, I’ve retailed over £500 with 360 catalogues and because I’m prepared to follow our proven system, I’m convinced I can fit this great business around my DJ work and what’s great for me is to be part of a supportive group of people who like me, are determined to succeed!
